As the new school year approaches, ST Math is rolling out exciting updates designed to support deeper learning, improve educator tools, and strengthen implementation at every level. Whether you’re a teacher, administrator, or district leader, these enhancements will make it easier than ever to bring impactful math experiences to students!
New Games for Sixth Grade: Making Math Come Alive
This year’s curriculum introduces four brand-new sixth-grade games that tackle challenging concepts in a visual and interactive way:
- Number Line Inequalities is ST Math’s first-ever introduction to inequalities, emphasizing conceptual models before symbolic representations.
- Linear Relationships Mountain connects tables, graphs, and equations using dynamic visual tools to explore slope and rate of change.
- Absolute Value Arena helps students understand absolute value with progressively complex representations, from whole numbers to decimals and symbolic notation.
- Prism Volume supports spatial reasoning with fractional unit lengths and introduces exponential growth through cube volume modeling.

These games are built to deepen understanding while aligning tightly with sixth-grade standards, including expanded objectives in absolute value, inequalities, and proportional relationships.
Curriculum Revisions and State Standards Support
ST Math has undertaken a major curriculum alignment initiative, with over 250 content updates for Common Core and 450+ updates for Virginia’s new SOLs. Texas has also seen a significant boost in TEKS-aligned content! The curriculum now includes:
- Releveled and refined game sequences based on student assessment data
- Enhanced coverage of negative numbers, one-step equations, and unit-based volume
Puzzle Talks Expansion: More Conversations, More Insights
ST Math has nearly doubled the Puzzle Talks library, adding 60+ new discussions tailored to TEKS and grade-level standards. Educators will now find:
- New vocabulary sections for language development
- Game previews and “Game in a Minute” videos
- Discourse questions and rating tools for feedback
- Expanded K–5 coverage, including multiple new talks per topic
Ed Console Redesign: Sleek, Smart, and Standards-Ready
The educator experience is also getting a major refresh. The new Ed Console, launching with the curriculum rollover, includes:
- A modern dashboard for districts with multiple MIND products (e.g., InsightMath, ST Math Early Learning)
- Redesigned staff and objective pages for easier filtering, sorting, and editing
- Improvements to data and reporting to better understand student usage and engagement
Additional features and enhancements to the new console will be released throughout August!
Mind University and Professional Learning
This year, ST Math is prioritizing teacher growth through improved learning pathways. A new course, “Strengthening Puzzle Talks with Discourse Strategies,” launches early August and goes beyond platform basics and focuses on high-impact classroom facilitation.

The new Mind University platform replaces the old Academy and houses all on-demand learning in one place, including:
- On-demand courses with progress tracking
- Certificate downloads
- Seamless single sign-on via the Ed Console
- Admin reporting for PL engagement
Smarter Implementation Guidance
ST Math is now encouraging schools to think about engagement over exact minutes. Students who use ST Math consistently each week show significantly stronger outcomes, and now there are clearer visuals, flexible guidance, and new reports to support that shift. Research shows:
- 60 minutes/week = 66% completion and a 9.5% increase in standards mastery
- 60+ minutes/week = 100% completion and a 16.5% gain
New graphics and messaging help schools align usage patterns with outcomes, while reports like “Equivalent Days of Instruction” offer clearer insight into learning impact and support this updated implementation approach. It’s not about hitting a number, it’s about building a routine that works.
Let’s Go, JiJi!
From game design to reporting, from Puzzle Talks to professional learning, every aspect of ST Math is being enhanced to empower educators and deepen student understanding. This is ST Math at its best. And this year, keep your eyes peeled for Jiji’s friend Paco in the student welcome video! This year is going to be fun, focused, and full of growth. Let’s get started!
